Ryan Hopkins is a keynote speaker, Healthi founder and best-selling author on mental health and wellbeing.
Hopkins has spent his career asking a question the health and wellbeing industry often avoids: did any of it actually work?
He is the award-winning founder of Healthi, the bestselling author of 52 Weeks of Wellbeing, published in seven languages, and a two-time TEDx speaker.
His work explores the messy relationship between health, work, technology, and human behaviour, and what organisations can do in practice to improve both people’s lives and their performance.
Before advising executives and speaking to audiences worldwide, Ryan Hopkins dispensed prescriptions, sold mortgages, worked as an apprentice electrician, managed bars and ran nightclub doors. He understands work from the frontline to the boardroom and can connect with everyone, regardless of role.
At Deloitte, Ryan built and led the Global Future of Wellbeing consulting business, replacing activity counts and annual surveys with a data-led way of understanding how work affects people and performance (positively impacting ≈500k people).
At Bupa, Ryan continued to drive change, combining health claims, clinical pathways, and workforce data to show Bupa’s UK customers (4.2m people) and global customers (40m) what was driving ill health, which interventions improved outcomes, and where people were getting lost in the healthcare system.
He is now building Healthi to unite employers, insurers, healthcare providers, industry bodies and government around a shared goal: understand the true cost of ill health, prove the value of investing in people and help more people reach the right support earlier.
