Dan Walker is one of the UK’s most recognisable and accomplished broadcasters and a highly sought-after awards host, event presenter and conference host.
With over two decades of live television and broadcasting experience, Dan brings warmth, intelligence, humour and professionalism to conferences and awards ceremonies.
An experienced live presenter and interviewer, Dan is equally comfortable hosting a major awards evening, interviewing guests on stage or keeping a complex event running smoothly. His relaxed, engaging style and quick wit make him a popular choice for organisations looking for an established television personality to host their corporate awards ceremony or live event.
Dan Walker is the lead anchor of Channel 5’s flagship news programme, 5 News.
Since joining Channel, he has also presented a number of prime-time programmes, including Vanished – Britain’s Hunt for Missing People, as well as the hugely popular Dan & Helen’s Pennine Adventure and Yorkshire Great & Small alongside Helen Skelton.
In 2024, Dan joined Global to present the Classic FM Breakfast Show.
Prior to joining Channel 5, Dan spent six years presenting BBC Breakfast, one of the UK’s most-watched morning television programmes.
He also hosted Football Focus for 12 years, reporting from some of the biggest sporting events in the world, including five Olympic Games, five FIFA World Cups and the NFL.
His extensive BBC Sport career also included coverage of Wimbledon, the Grand National, Royal Ascot, the Derby and the Six Nations.
Dan’s experience extends well beyond news and sport. He presented the BBC One game show Chase the Case and, in 2021, joined the cast of Strictly Come Dancing, reaching the quarter-finals.
Known for his thoughtful and sensitive interviewing style, Dan was chosen to present A Royal Team Talk: Tackling Mental Health for BBC One with HRH The Duke of Cambridge. The programme brought together leading football figures, including Gareth Southgate and Peter Crouch, for a candid discussion about men’s mental health and went on to receive several award nominations. Dan has also presented The One Show and Songs of Praise.
Another memorable moment in his career came when Comic Relief invited him to climb Mount Kilimanjaro alongside a group of well-known personalities. Their fundraising challenge was documented in the BBC One programme Return to Kili.
Dan is also an accomplished author. His books include Standing on the Shoulders: Incredible Heroes and How They Inspire Us, the follow-up to the bestselling Remarkable People, as well as Dan Walker’s Thronkersaurus: Football’s Finest Tales and Magic, Mud & Maradona.
Away from broadcasting, Dan is a keen golfer and has organised his own charity golf tournament, The Walker Cup (not that one), raising more than £250,000 for The Children’s Hospital Charity.
