Julian Fisher is a former MI6 intelligence officer.
He was one of the lead trainers/assessors (known as “Control”) on the Channel 4 series ‘Spies‘.
The series subjected fifteen ordinary men and women to tests based on training for new entrants to the British Intelligence Services, to find out if they had what it takes to make it in the world of espionage.
Julian worked as a consultant on the series and was instrumental to the final shape of the programme, as well as one of its most prominent faces during broadcast.
In the making of the programme, Julian drew on his previous experience as an operational officer in the Secret Intelligence Service (SIS, commonly known as MI6) and in the private security and intelligence sector, primarily as Head of Africa for Aegis Defence Services Ltd, formerly owned by Lt. Col. Tim Spicer.
Having enjoyed two postings in Africa while working for government “in a specialised branch of the British Diplomatic Service”, Julian has established a specialism on the continent and has travelled to most of its countries, including for operational, commercial, leisure and language learning purposes.
Julian is also a consultant on espionage fiction. He has provided advice to leading script-writers, novelists, actors and a number of film and television production companies
