Ian Kelsey is a star of stage and screen.
Born and raised in York, Ian left school and took an apprenticeship at British Rail where he gained his City and Guilds as a vehicle Builder.
After 6 years Ian left the railway and since then has never met anyone who can top his “worst job’ story.
He then moved onto building cedar wood conservatories in and around York, some of which are still leaking to this day!
After discovering an allergy to cedar wood, which was handy, his doctor advised him to change his job, so Ian auditioned for Guildford School of Acting and the rest they say, is history.
During his three years at drama school Ian gained his full equity as dancing cowboy ‘Dead Wood Dick’ in Lazy Lill’s Saloon at The American Adventure Theme Perk in Notts!
Ian is most recognised for his role on Emmerdale as (Dead) Dave Glover (The Lover), Patrick (also dead) on Casualty, Matt Brewer on Down To Earth, Caroline Quentin’s side kick, Richard Mayne on ITV’S Blue Murder and as Practice Manager Howard Bellamy (R.I.P) on BBC’s Doctors.
As you can imagine, Ian has an excellent collection of prop coffin plaque’s on his toilet door!
Kelsey has also appeared in the West End as ‘Danny’ in Grease and the lawyer ‘Billy Flynn’ in Chicago The Musical.
When not acting, Ian Kelsey is a popular awards host and guest speaker.
Ian has many entertaining career anecdotes, bring a touch of fun to your event. From Hollywood to Oldham, its not all Glitz and Glamour!
