Christophe Reech is an innovator, an out-of-the-box creative thinker, a problem solver, an opportunity builder, strategic thinker and business leader.
An award-winning serial entrepreneur, he has over 23 years’ experience in investment banks, derivatives, financial technology, real estate finance and alternative investment management.
In 2006, Christophe founded the Reech AiM Group S.A, an alternative investment group that aims to deliver superior and consistent uncorrelated returns through the use of active management and effective risk controls in real estate. In 2007, he created a joint venture with CBRE, the world leader in real estate services, to launch the Iceberg Fund, a real estate Hedge Fund.
In 1999, Christophe established Reech Capital PLC in London. The company quickly became a worldwide expert in financial derivatives analytics, complex derivatives valuations, and alternative investment risk management.
In 2002, Time magazine ranked Christophe as one of the ‘Top 25 European Innovators’ for his visionary concept. The following year Capital IT ranked his venture as one of the ‘Top 30 European Innovating Companies’.
Later in 2004, he was awarded by Risk magazine’s the ‘Risk Technologist of the Year’ Award.
The group was acquired by SunGard in 2004 and Christophe’s innovative products are still in use today.
Previously, Christophe was a co-founder of the Financial Products division of Nikko Securities in London where he headed up the Equity Derivatives and Equity Finance department. He then set up a new Derivatives Investment Banking operation involving offshore trading centres and onshore derivatives and capital market clients driven operation. Nikko Financial Products was finally merged with Salomon Smith Barney in 1999.
From 1994, Christophe was an Executive Director at Commerz Financial Products GmbH in Frankfurt (the former derivatives arm of Commerzbank). The company was a start-up investment bank founded by Commerzbank. Christophe developed a trading and sales operation in Germany, France and in the United States.
Paribas Capital Markets (now part of BNP Paribas) recruited Christophe as a Director and Global Head of Equity finance. His role was to develop a new client-driven Equity Finance operation based out of London, Paris, New York, and Singapore.
As part of his French military service, Christophe started his career as an Associate at Ottoman Bank (Paribas International) in Istanbul.
Christophe graduate from the National Institute for Applied Sciences (INSA) in France in Computer Sciences, Maths, and Physics.
